I've helped fund 8 hours of a research assistant’s time to work on life saving cancer research.
My background
Having to live through and watch my mum battle with breast cancer for 7 years first getting it when i was 14 I still remember the moment she told me and we both just burst into tears it’s something you never want to go through but unfortunately people of faced with this reality on a daily basis. In the end mum ended up loosing the battle she became cancer free 3 years after being diagnosed and then 2 years later the cancer came back worse and more aggressive then ever watching someone you love so much be so helpless and weak is so crushing to anyone especially to loose someone that has so much more to give to the world. Thanks to Cancer Council and the Longest day fundraising event I hope to help raise as much money as I can to help cancer research find ways to be able to cure this terrible disease that effects so many.I've helped fund 8 hours of a research assistant’s time to work on life saving cancer research.
