I've helped fund 14 hours of a research assistant’s time to work on life saving cancer research.
I'm taking on Cancer Council's The Longest Day...
I’m doing The Longest Day this year with my brother Blaine and a few close mates who knew Mum well. In an attempt to raise funds for the Cancer Council, we’ll be embarking on a marathon day of 72 holes of golf. You may be saying to yourself “what’s so hard about going out and doing something you love all day?” While it’s true that I love golf, it will be physically and mentally exhausting. Walking the course tee to green in a straight line 4 times over, we’ll cover ~25km. But for someone who barely hits a fairway or green and has to chase their ball into uncharted territory, the distance will be much more. Add to that all the twisting and crunching our bones will go through.
Putting ourselves through this pain is a small sacrifice and pails in comparison to the pain 1 in every 2 Australians face dealing with cancer by the time they’re 85.
The unrelenting grip of cancer has touched everyone in someway or another. I’m sure most of us can think of someone who has suffered this disease. Many of my family members have and it carries a lasting impact. I will be thinking about them on the day. Please help us reach our goal by donating a small amount to a good cause.
In memory of Linda Mol, the best Mum anyone could ask for ❤️
Great pitch Aaron, hope you don't lose too many balls in the rough, and that you don't crunch any bones at all :). All the best for the day xx
