I've helped fund 4 hours of a research assistant’s time to work on life saving cancer research.

I'm taking on Cancer Council's The Longest Day...

Joining the Cancer Council's Longest Day Golf Challenge is a deeply personal commitment for me. As someone with fair skin, I know all too well the dangers of sun exposure, which is a big part of our vibrant Australian lifestyle. While we love our sunny days, it’s essential to acknowledge the serious risks they pose to our skin health.

My family has faced the harsh realities of skin cancer, with several members having had skin cancers removed. This experience has made me particularly aware of the importance of sun safety. As an educator, I feel a strong duty to instill sun safety practices in the next generation. It's crucial for children to learn how to enjoy the outdoors while also understanding how to protect themselves from harmful UV rays.

This event is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness about the significance of sun protection, especially for those of us with fair skin who are at higher risk. Together, we can create a culture that values both outdoor fun and health, ensuring that everyone can safely enjoy the Australian sun for years to come.

I'll be testing my skill, strength, and stamina to raise funds for life-saving cancer research.
